1. Who we are
CITY LINK ("CITY LINK", "we", "us" or "our") is a digital media and entertainment platform operated by Sayyad Aawes Sayyad Akram, a sole proprietor, based in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, India.
CITY LINK provides access to local news, live events, cricket-related content, streams and replays, match photographs, podcasts, films, educational content, event updates, user profiles and social features. This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled when you use the CITY LINK mobile application, website and related services (together, the "Services").
2. Information we collect
The information collected depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant and the technical services enabled in the released version of the app. We may collect the following categories where applicable:
- Account and authentication data: name, username, email address, mobile number, password or password-verification data, and account identifiers. Passwords are stored as secure password hashes, not readable text.
- Profile and social data: profile photograph, biography, posts, followers, following, likes, comments, friend/share activity and other information you choose to add.
- Content and communications: photos, videos, text, reports, feedback, support messages and other material you submit or send through the Services.
- Usage and interaction data: pages and content viewed, searches, playback and interaction events, feature usage, and approximate timestamps, where collected.
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, diagnostic events, crash logs, security logs and network information, where collected.
- Permissions and device media: access to selected photos or videos, camera or microphone only when a feature requires it and the relevant permission is requested. The app does not access unrelated media or record audio/video in the background.
- Support and complaint data: contact details and information you provide when contacting us or reporting content.
We do not currently collect precise or approximate location data. We do not intend to collect every category listed above from every user. This policy and our Google Play Data safety declarations describe the data collected by the released app and its third-party SDKs.
3. How we use personal data
- To create, authenticate and manage accounts, profiles and account security.
- To provide news, live and recorded media, podcasts, films, educational material, event information and other requested features.
- To display profiles and operate features such as follows, likes, comments, search, sharing and notifications, where enabled.
- To store, retrieve, process and display content submitted by users or authorised administrators.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, secure and improve the Services, including diagnosing errors and preventing abuse.
- To respond to support requests, complaints, legal requests and safety concerns.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations and protect users, the platform and our legal rights.
4. Legal basis, notice and consent
Where applicable law requires consent or another permitted basis for processing, we will provide an appropriate notice and obtain or rely on the relevant lawful basis. Where consent is relied upon, users may withdraw it through the available mechanism or by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal. Some data may be necessary to provide account-based features, and those features may not work if the required data is not provided.
We will provide clear information about the purpose of collection and will seek permissions in context when a device feature requires them. Device permissions can also be managed through the device settings.
5. Photos, videos, news and user-submitted content
CITY LINK may publish administrator- or reporter-produced news, interviews, event coverage, photographs, video footage, podcasts and other media. Users may also submit profile photographs, posts, comments or other content if those features are available.
Content may contain personal information about people appearing in it. We expect users and our authorised contributors to respect applicable privacy, consent, copyright, publicity and other legal rights. If you believe content unlawfully affects your privacy or rights, contact us using the details in Section 15 and provide the relevant content link and explanation so we can review it.
6. Public profiles and visibility
Depending on the features and settings available, a profile may display a username, profile photograph, biography, posts, follower/following information and other profile details. Content you publish publicly may be visible to other users and may be shared through app features. Do not include sensitive personal information in public profile fields or public posts. The app indicates which fields and content are public and provides any privacy controls that are offered.
7. Live streams and third-party media
CITY LINK may provide live events, cricket-related streams, replays and other audiovisual material. Availability may depend on rights, technical conditions, schedules and third-party services. Streaming or embedded-media providers may process technical data, such as IP address and playback information, to deliver their services. Their processing is governed by their own privacy notices and terms.
We aim to publish or distribute media only where we have the necessary permissions, licences or other lawful authorisation. Contact us if you believe content infringes your rights. If YouTube is used to deliver content, also review the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
8. When we share information
We do not intend to sell personal data. We may disclose information, where necessary and subject to applicable safeguards, to:
- Hosting, database, cloud storage, content delivery, video/streaming and infrastructure providers that process data for operating the Services.
- Authentication, security, crash reporting, analytics, notification or other technical providers, but only where those services are actually integrated.
- Our authorised personnel and contractors who need access to operate, maintain, support or protect the Services.
- Government authorities, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other parties when disclosure is required by law or is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims or protect safety.
We will update this policy when our service providers or data-sharing practices materially change.
9. International processing
Our service providers or infrastructure may process or store information in locations outside the state or country where you live. Where this occurs, we will take steps required by applicable law for such processing and transfers.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, which may include access controls, authentication protections, secure transmission, backups, monitoring and restricted administrative access. No electronic system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will take the steps and provide notices required by applicable law.
11. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Services, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods differ by data type. Data that is no longer required is securely deleted or anonymised, subject to lawful retention requirements.
12. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your CITY LINK account and associated personal data through the in-app account deletion option or the public account-deletion web page listed below. If you cannot access the app, use the web page or contact our privacy address.
Account deletion request page: https://citylinkzone.com/account-deletion/
Privacy contact email: citylinkapp247@gmail.com
When a valid request is processed, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with the account, including data held by our processors where applicable, unless retention is required or permitted by law for a specified purpose such as security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or dispute resolution. Any retained data will be restricted and retained only for the necessary period. We will explain any material exceptions to the requester.
The account-deletion web page allows a user to initiate a deletion request without requiring the app to be reinstalled. The in-app deletion path is available under Profile or Account Settings. Logging out or uninstalling the app is not account deletion.
13. Children and young people
CITY LINK may carry educational content, school-event coverage or media involving young people. The Services are not intended to collect children's personal data in breach of applicable law. Where processing of a child's personal data requires verifiable parental or guardian consent or other safeguards, those requirements must be implemented before the relevant feature is offered. Parents or guardians may contact us with concerns.
14. Your rights and complaints
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to obtain information about personal data, request correction or updating, request erasure, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, and raise a grievance. To make a request, contact the privacy address in Section 15 or use the contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
